RICESWEET THICK RICE
1 Cup White
Rice
2 Cups Boiling
Water
1 Tablespoon
Butter
1/2 tsp.
salt
3 to 4 cups
milk
1/4 cup sugar, or more to
taste
1/3 cup

1 to 3 teaspoons
cinnamon
In a saucepan, stir rice into boiling
water. Add butter and
salt.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered,
about 20 minutes or until most of the water is
absorbed
Stir in milk. Simmer, uncovered
until rice is tender and mixture is "creamy and thick, not
soupy."
Stir frequently to prevent sticking and
scorching. Add more milk if needed. Sugar also may be
added now, or sprinkled on top
later
Place rice in oven-proof dish.
Brown the butter lightly over medium heat. Pour
butter over rice. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar,
if sugar wasn't added earlier. Serve
warm.
